Do I need to attend Forest Hill Church in order to receive services?

In January 2024, we opened our doors to the greater Charlotte community. Interested clients do not need to attend Forest Hill Church in order to receive services here.

Where are you located?

Forest Hill Counseling is located at the South Park campus of Forest Hill Church. The South Park Campus address is 7224 Park Road, Charlotte 28210. Once on campus, look for the large brick building with six chimneys— that’s us! When you arrive, you may enter via either entrance. The doors are not locked, but they are heavy so you may have to push to open. Once inside, you will find reception on the main floor, just beside the staircase.

How do I schedule an appointment?

We invite you to complete this form (link to form) to express your interest in beginning the counseling process. We will follow up with you within 1 to 2 business days.

Do you offer financial assistance?

Financial assistance is available by application through a counseling scholarship fund. Reduced rates are determined by annual household income and number of dependents while considering any extenuating circumstances. You may request an application during the intake process. All clients are welcome to apply. We also offer reduced session rates with our graduate level counselors.

Do you offer virtual sessions?

We do offer virtual sessions to NC and SC residents if deemed appropriate and feasible for client and clinician.

What is your cancellation policy?

If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment for any reason, please notify us at least 24 business hours prior to your appointment time. You can cancel and reschedule your appointment through your Simple Practice client portal. If you need assistance, you may call us at 704.716.8775 to cancel and reschedule your appointment. Clients who are more than 15 minutes late will need to reschedule their session and will be charged the full session fee. You will still be responsible for paying your full session fee if your appointment has not been canceled at least one business day in advance.  If you are canceling a Monday appointment, you must call our office on the Friday prior to your appointment.

Do you take insurance?

We are not in-network with any insurance providers but you may request a super bill that will provide all necessary information including dates of service, provider, and necessary diagnostic codes so you may file with insurance. All clients will be required to pay Forest Hill directly and then those who wish to seek reimbursement for counseling services from their insurance carrier will be responsible to file with their carrier using the super bill provided and to discern what steps need to be taken to receive reimbursement. Some health insurance companies will reimburse clients for counseling services and some will not. Most insurance companies will require a diagnosis of a mental health condition before they will agree to reimburse you. If a qualifying diagnosis is appropriate in your case, I will inform you of the diagnosis before submission to a third party and any formal diagnosis made will become part of your permanent insurance record.

Can I use my FSA/HSA card or health savings account?

If you participate in an HSA or FSA program, you may attempt to use your HSA/FSA card to make payments online. However, these cards may be restricted to certain medical vendors and not all will recognize Forest Hill Counseling as an approved medical vendor.  Each employer is different in how they set up their FSA/HSAs.

What about an EAP?

We are unable to contract with EAPs at this time.
